Description
Painting with decorative borders, mounted on support panel. Would have originally been in thangka format.
Sakyamuni Buddha sits cross-legged on lotus throne making bhumi-sparsa and dhyana mudras. He is flanked by two monastic attendants. Above, at center is blue Vajradhara(金刚总持). At left is Buddha in teaching gesture. Below at center is pink Kubera (with mongoose and water pot). At left is green Tara making varada and dharma chakra mudras. At right is white Tara in same gesture.
Obverse: small gold inscriptions identifying figures.
Severely abraded but exquisite painting.
