A gilt bronze figure of Vajrasattva
Tibet, 15th century
Seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus base with a vajra held to his chest and a ghanta in his lap, clad in a close fitting dhoti with incised hems and beaded jewelry inset with hardstones, the serene face surmounted by a foliate tiara flanked by pendant ribbons, the hair in a high chignon with the locks draped over the tiara at the back and cascading over the shoulders, the base sealed and incised with a double-vajra and the Eight Auspicious Symbols
